We were delighted to be a part of Bump Club & Beyond’s couple’s dance night in Austin, Texas this past Valentine’s Day!  This event allowed couples with new or expecting moms to have a night on the town with their beaus, with a stuffed swag-bag to boot!  We packed our signature ‘LOVE’ gift boxes with our “Sweetheart” chemise & hipster & our “Lace Rumba” babydoll & hipster too!  Check out these great shots from the event!

Honeydew: When did you open? What would you say was your biggest key to success?

Betsy: Ellie’s Fine Lingerie opened in June 2011. Before we opened, quality lingerie and proper fitting bras were not available in the Chattanooga area so women have loved coming to our store for beautiful chemises, bras, pajama sets, slips, and more!

Honeydew: When did you know that owning your own intimates boutique was your calling? 

Betsy: I’m passionate about helping women feel confident in themselves. Proper fitting, beautiful lingerie helps a woman feel sexy!

Honeydew:  What is the overall ‘vibe’ in your shop?

Betsy: Ellie’s is located in a old warehouse renovated into a shopping center, called Warehouse Row. Our atmosphere has a modern, vintage, boudoir inspired feel.

Honeydew: What was the first moment you realized “Hey, I’m actually making this work!”

Betsy: When a lady told me her life had changed after being properly fitted for the first time, that was a big moment for me!

Honeydew: What is your target customer & price-point? 

Betsy: At Ellie’s we believe gorgeous lingerie and quality bras should be available to everyone. So we choose classic, timeless styles that appeal to women in their 20’s as well as older women. We carry all price points as well, so everyone can find something they love.

Honeydew: Small business owners often get a lot of feedback from their regular customers.  What do your customers love about your store? What do your customers love about Honeydew Intimates specifically?

Betsy: Customers love that they can find lovely items that are not available anywhere else. Also they like that they can talk openly with us about their needs to really find what they are looking for. Our customers love that Honeydew is cute and comfortable! They fall in love with the soft fabrics and pretty lace.

Honeydew: What is your personal favorite Honeydew Intimates item & why?

Betsy: I personally love the Sweetheart rayon and lace chemise. It’s cute, comfortable, and fits great!

Honeydew:  Anything you’d like to tell Honeydew fans out there about yourself, your store, or just life itself?

Betsy: We believe everyone should leave Ellie’s feeling good about themselves. We strive to find the perfect fitting bra for each customer. We carry items that we really love and are excited to share with our customers!

Honeydew: Any special events on the horizon at Ellie’s Fine Lingerie?

At Ellie’s we host private after hours parties for lingerie showers or just a girls’ night out. It’s always a fun time to bring your friends together and shop privately together!
